AI voice-overs for audiobooks
Audiobook production is a marathon of consistency. Readers expect the same narrator from chapter one through the epilogue, even pacing, and names that never flip pronunciation halfway through. Hiring a full studio run is expensive; re-recording a revised chapter is slower still.

135 charactersYou no longer paste a manuscript in one chapter at a time. Upload the book itself — a DRM-free PDF (scanned pages are read automatically), EPUB, Word, FB2, TXT, Markdown or HTML file — and it is read in your browser and split into chapters for you to check. Rename, merge or split them, and leave out front and back matter such as the contents and index, before a single character is charged. Title and copyright pages are skipped automatically.
Then pick one catalog voice for the whole book. Chapters are voiced in the background at a narration pace, each opening with its title read aloud and levelled to audiobook loudness (-18 LUFS by default), so you can close the tab, pause and resume later. When an editor changes a paragraph three weeks on, regenerate that chapter and only the changed paragraphs are charged again.
No signup needed: paste a script and hear the first 500 characters.
How it works for audiobooks
- 1
Upload a DRM-free book file and check the chapters it finds: rename, merge or split them, and leave out the front and back matter.
- 2
Add character names, place names and invented terms to the book's pronunciation dictionary, then choose one catalog voice to narrate.
- 3
Start the book and let it voice in the background, with an optional spoken opening-credits track; pause and resume whenever you like.
- 4
Download one M4B with chapter markers and cover art, or a ZIP of chapter MP3s. After an edit, regenerate only the chapter that changed.

Book in, chapters out
Upload the file and the chapters are detected for you. Nothing is charged until you have reviewed them, and pages you leave out are never voiced.
One M4B for your audiobook app
One file with chapter markers and cover art that plays in BookPlayer (iPhone), Smart AudioBook Player (Android), Apple Books on Mac and VLC. Building it uses no characters.
Stable narrator identity
Reuse one voice profile across the whole book or series so listeners never hear a cast change mid-story.
Names spoken your way
A pronunciation dictionary for each book locks fantasy names, foreign places, and invented terms so they stay correct for hundreds of pages.

Questions, answered
How long can a book be?
Up to 1,000,000 characters (about 18 hours of audio) and 300 chapters per book. Voicing is charged per character like any voice-over and works on every plan; on the free plan, the monthly allowance limits how long a book you can voice.
What book formats does the upload accept?
A DRM-free PDF (scanned pages included), EPUB, Word (DOCX), FB2, TXT, Markdown or HTML, up to 100 MB. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded; only the chapter text you approve is stored. Scanned pages are the exception: each is sent as an image to an AI model to read its text, free within a daily page limit, and we don't store the image. Use it for text you own, have permission to use, or that is in the public domain.
Can the same voice narrate an entire series?
Yes. Select the same voice for every chapter and title. Combined with pronunciation rules, that is how you keep a series sounding like one continuous production.
What if I rewrite a scene after generation?
Edit the chapter's text and regenerate that chapter. Only the paragraphs you changed are charged again; unchanged paragraphs replay from cache at no extra character charge.
Is this a replacement for a human audiobook performer?
It is a production tool for drafts, indie catalogs, educational titles, and internal narrations. Premium retail fiction may still want a human performance — many authors use generated narration for earlier editions or companion formats.
Is the M4B ready for audiobook stores?
No. It is built for audiobook apps such as BookPlayer, Smart AudioBook Player, Apple Books on Mac and VLC, and it is not packaged or checked for retail audiobook stores. If you would rather have separate files, download a ZIP of numbered chapter MP3s, or play and download any chapter on its own.
